Sign up to manage your own resources on the Portal

How it works

Option 1. Anyone can request new information be posted on the Portal by sending an e-mail to hostmaster@bie.berkeley.edu.

Option 2. Faculty, Staff and Student Groups can manage their own content.

All UC Berkeley faculty, staff and student groups may create and manage their own content on the Portal. All postings will be immediate without administrative approval.

Step 1. Sign up. You can sign up for a new account at the bottom of any page on the Portal (http://enviro.berkeley.edu). Portal administrators will assign you a role as either faculty, staff or student, based on your Calnet Directory (https://calnet.berkeley.edu/directory/) information. Only users with updated Calnet information will be authenticated. If you are the leader of a student group, please contact Portal administrators (support@bie.berkeley.edu) so we can assign you to this role. Students who are not leaders of student groups may sign up for the Portal in order to be included on our mailing list, but will not be assigned administrative priveleges.

Step 2. You will receive an email, usually within 24 hours, providing a temporary one time password. Use this to login and change your password (future versions of the Portal will allow for login with Calnet ID and Passphrase).

Step 3. Create your own Content. Depending on your status as student group staff or faculty, you will be able to create the following content by simply filling out online forms (no html experience required).
